Washington & Old Dominion Trail
The Washington & Old Dominion Trail is an awesome route through Northern Virginia.
The trail is 45 miles and paved with nine foot wide asphalt (pretty sweet). There is also a horse trail that runs parallel along much of the route.
The problem is that it's pretty popular (could get pretty crowded on a good day).
It begins in the Shirlington area of Arlington County (off I-395 Exit 6.) and ends in Purcellville, VA. Along the way, it passes through Falls Church, Leesburg, Reston and Herndon.
